Visitation, No. 2, 2018

Building on the same elements as ‘Visitation’, I was compelled to do another painting but on a larger canvas. I realised that ‘Visitation’ was a recognition of inspiration itself, or perhaps a non-physical manifestation of a muse. All artists are inspired in some way or another. I had no interest in painting the Buddha or any figurative element since it is too literal. There is no person behind the clouds, but only clouds itself, a kind of paradise or heaven.
