On December 29, 2024, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed in a horrific explosion at Muan International Airport in Muan County, South Korea, claiming the lives of 175 passengers and 4 of the 6 crew members. The tragedy weighed heavily on my heart. Standing before the canvas, I could only translate my sorrow into paint—expressing the profound grief of such sudden loss and offering, in my own way, condolences to the families and loved ones left behind. Events like these leave an indelible mark on my psyche, a shadow of sadness that lingers long after the news fades.
