The recent months have been difficult psychologically — caught in a mental loop that results in negativity and despair. I believe this feeling is influenced by current events taking place on a global level, alongside concerns about AI and its possible destruction of the human species. It is very well plausible. So how does this inform my art? Simply said, it doesn’t — well, at least not directly. It is a counter reaction. The geometric images appear in my mind and I just go forth with what I feel wants to come out. I don’t intend for the shapes to be symbols, or for the artworks to contain hidden messages. I would rather they be inert formations, as a counterfoil to the politics of meaning and intellectual discourse. When I look at Elemental 1 and 2, I only want to contemplate meditatively — without judgment and without analysis.
