Blue Planet IV is the ninth painting in the Arcadia series of artworks. ‘Blue Planet’ is also the name of a documentary series by David Attenborough on the BBC where he notes that Earth’s surface is covered by 71% water. It floats with the mythical place of Arcadia, which forms the basis or setting in which the imagination is allowed to soar. Abstract and conceptual ideas are melded into the terrain of traditional landscape paintings.
