Morpheus Hand

I used a flatbed scanner to capture my gloved hand in motion. While the scanner recorded each image, I moved my hand to dance music, letting the rhythm shape the gestures. The movement blurs and stretches the hand into flowing shapes, so each scan is a record of a single improvised performance. The series is named after Morpheus, the god of dreams. The shifting, distorted forms reflect the idea of transformation that runs through dreams.
